Web Analytics and Usage and Health Services

Curious why the Web Analytics tab is greyed out? I look at the XML and I have the options defined but in the UI it's greyed out.

Also, when I look in the DB once the Usage and Health database is installed it is listed not with the names that are in the XML but rather as WSS_UsageApplication. In the GUI I have it listed as "UsageAndHealth" and should be prepended with 2013. All other DB's work great. I looked in the XML and it is set correctly. Perhaps this is an issue with the latest version of AutoSPInstaller script (I have the most current stable release being used).

Hey Greg,

Web Analytics hes been removed in SP2013. Its now a part of Search. This is why it is disabled in the GUI.

The issues with your usage database is that it was not created using AutoSPInstaller. You must have had it set to disable. This service will be automatically provisioned if you provision Search.

Please let me know if this doesnt make sense.

Thank you,

Thank you, this helps a little. I guess I'm a little confused...

In the AutoInstallerGUI there are two tabs, Web Analytics (greyed out) and Usage And Health (not greyed out). I can't set the Web Analytics as you indicated it has changed in SP2013. However, I set the Usage And Health, this is used in SP2013 - correct?

My settings in AutoInstallerGUI look like the following

Based on these options I see the following in SQL

Based on the settings in the GUI (image 1 above) I was expecting to see SP2013_UsageAndHealth DB, but don't?? Instead I see the two marked in the second attached image of SQL - I can understand the Search DB that I highlight...but where does/did the WSS_UsageApplication DB come from? I see that the minute I'm done with SPInstallation using the scripts.

I really appreciate your help in understanding!!

Actually dug a little deeper. I see that SP2013 does have Usage and Health just like 2010 did. I found that the WSS_UsageApplication is the DB that is associated with the Usage And Health application.

You can see in the attached screenshot. So, my question is why when defining the DB name in the GUI does it not create SP2013_UsageandHealth DB like I defined?
